On Feb. 1, 1924, the first rubber man joined the circus, but he got bounced.

On Feb. 2, 1935, the largest sponge colony was found in the Atlantic. There was a soaker born every minute.

On Feb. 3, 1857, the first chess tournament was held. The winner got a check.

On Feb. 4, 1918, gum was first sold on a chew chew train.

On Feb. 5, 1868, the first mythology exhibit was featured in a circus. It got Centaur Ring.

On Feb. 6, 1883, the first flea circus opened, but a dog came by, and stole the show.

On Feb. 7, 1787, the first alarm clock was made. Everyone was tocking about it.

On Feb. 8, 1895, the steam iron was invented; solving some pressing problems.

On Feb. 9, 1865, the coffee percolator was patented, and gave grounds for celebration.

On Feb. 10, 1901, the first library opened in Booklyn.

On Feb. 11, 1911, the first art contest was held. Winners were selected by a drawing.

On Feb. 12, 1803, the first medical book was written, but it had no appendix.

On Feb. 13, 1910, artificial snow was first made -- the first snow fakes.

On Feb. 14, 1915, the first book on watch making was written. Everyone said was about time.

On Feb. 15, 1933, the first all night bakery opened, run by a real dough nut.

On Feb. 16, 1923, the first wig for men was made, but people didn't want toupee for it.

On Feb. 17, 1923, clothes hampers became popular. They were for people who wanted to throw in the towel.

On Feb. 18, 1936, the rubber covered football was made, and people really got a kick out of it.

On Feb. 19, 1928, the first frog jumping jubilee was held. It made people very hoppy.

On Feb. 20, 1888, bread was first commercially made. Everyone fell in loaf with it.

On Feb. 21, 1939, the first illuminated golf course opened. It was for people who liked swinging night clubs.

On Feb. 23, 1916, the first saddle was made with four pieces, but people thought that it might stirrup trouble.

On Feb. 24, 1908, playing card were invented. For the first time, you could buy four suits for under a dollar.

On Feb. 25, 1689, the first chair was made especially for royalty, but it was throne out.

On Feb. 26, 1639, the first attorney was graduated. He wore a civil suit to the ceremony.

On Feb. 27, 1921, boll weevils attacked potato crops. Farmers kept their eyes peeled.

On Feb. 28, 1904, mail was first delivered by dog sled...arrival Airedale Spaniel Delivery.

On Feb. 29, 1626, bowling was brought to New York City by the Dutch. It spread so quickly over the next 300 plus years, becoming known as the perfect game.
