Words and Music By Daryl Stout
2. When man sinned that fateful day, he tried to hide his deed.
Fig leaves made there by his hands, fell very short indeed.
For God said ''In that day you sin, you shall surely die''.
''Because you hearkened not to Me; but with sin complied''.
REFRAIN:
Doing good deeds throughout his life, and what's right in his eyes;
Won't get man into Heaven, no matter how he tries.
Christ's Death and Resurrection is for every man and nation.
And, how shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation??
3. As time went on, God chose a lamb to be a sacrifice;
In man's place for all his sins, for that year of life.
The High Priest sprinkled blood upon the Mercy Seat therein
The Holy Place, without disgrace for all of Israel's sins.
4. But, man still turned away from God, not caring how he lived.
Sinning greatly against the Lord in everything they did.
They killed God's Prophets, for they hated the preaching that they heard;
Of Righteous Judgment upon mankind; ''it can't be...it's absurd!!''.
REFRAIN:
5. So, God would show His Love to man by coming to the Earth;
In a manger, Virgin Born, a Precious, Lowly Birth.
He'd show the Way to God above, by the life He led.
Knowing they'd reject Him; and that they'd want Him dead.
6. And, on that Friday long ago, He was nailed to a Tree.
Perfect, sinless, innocent; dying for you and me.
He paid for our iniquities, by His Blood He Shed.
Then, Easter morn, He conquered death by rising from the dead!!
REFRAIN:
7. For if what the angels said was true, down through the course of time;
Your sin will find you out one day, rewarded down the line.
What man sows in his life, he'll reap; be it bad or good.
And, Christ removed our life's sins there, on that Cross of Wood.
8. Now, Redemption's brought to all mankind by what He did, you see.
Accept Him as your Lord today; His Gift of Love is free.
Wait no more, for death will be too late for explanation.
For without Him, there's no escape, if you neglect so great salvation.
