Words and Music by Daryl Stout
We're running the race, and looking to Jesus; The author, and finisher of our faith.
Running the race, and looking to Jesus; Eagerly listening to what our Lord saith.
For the joy set before Him, He endured the shame Of that Rugged Cross; Oh, Praise His Name!!
For we're running the race, and looking to Jesus; Who rose from the dead, with victory proclaimed!!
1. Since we are surrounded by a great cloud Of witnesses there; the faithful, large crowd,
Praising Christ Jesus, who died for us all; Let's remove now, sins shackles that make us fall. [REFRAIN]
2. Consider Him now, His patience held strong, While insults were hurled from sinful throngs
Of mankind He died for on that Cross All Alone; Now, Risen in Glory, and seated by God's Throne. [REFRAIN]
3. So, run it with patience, the race of life there, As we look to the meeting of our Lord in the air.
The trumpet of Rapture will gloriously blow; And He'll lovingly greet us, and say ''Welcome Home!!'' [REFRAIN]
