The Man Upon The Center Cross, Said I Could Come In

The Man Upon The Center Cross, Said I Could Come In

Written By Daryl Stout

1) The final judgment was prefigured there on Calvary.
Setting up two destinations for eternity.
All dependent on how one paid their cost of sin.
And whether into Heaven's Portal, they would be let in.

2) Either Hell or Heaven there, an eternal place.
Based on what one chose to do, with Amazing Grace.
Everyone who ever lived, before The Lord, will stand.
To give account of all their life, doing His Commands.

3) The Lord was on the center Cross, with two thieves on each side.
All of them were sentenced there, to be crucified.
Many had been crucified, time and time again.
Suffering in agony, the sting of death, would win.

4) The thief on Christ's Left, angrily, with his tongue, assailed.
''If you're The Messiah there, why haven't you prevailed??''.
His heart dark, and wicked, cold, buried in his sin.
Like the rich young ruler there, he wouldn't let Christ in.

5) He had the chance there to repent; instead, he turned away.
Eternally, he made the choice, for his sins, he'd pay.
Because the unrepentant thief, there died in his sin.
Into Heaven's Glory there, he wouldn't be let in.

6) But, the thief there on Christ's right, first on the wrong course.
Realized who was next to him, and he realized remorse.
''This Man has done nothing wrong; we're guilty of our sin''.
''Lord, Remember Me, when to your Kingdom, you come in''.

7) The Precious Love there of The Lord, there was undisguised.
''Before sunset, you'll be with Me, there in Paradise''.
He asked for forgiveness there, for all of his sin.
Spiritually, the jackpot there, this one, there did win.

8) When the repentant thief there arrived, at Heaven's entry way.
On why he should be let in, here's what he did say.
Believing Christ was innocent, from any charge of sin.
''The Man upon The Center Cross, said I could come in''.

9) When God asks me why into Heaven, I should get, entry.
I'll say ''Because of what Jesus did, on The Cross for me''.
He took upon Himself my shame, and my every sin.
''The Man upon The Center Cross, said I could come in''.

10) But, one can't ride coat tails there, into eternity.
Each one there must come to Christ, individually.
Believe on Christ, God in The Flesh, to pay for your sin.
''The Man upon The Center Cross, said I could come in''.
