It's A Somber Atmosphere, There Before God's Throne

Written By Daryl Stout

1) It's a somber atmosphere, there before God's Throne.
When all deeds done in their lives, will there, be made known.
It's appointed all to die, then the judgment there.
Most of mankind, tragically, will have not prepared.

2) It's a somber atmosphere, there before God's Throne.
For the saved and for the lost, all will stand alone.
While far worse there for the lost, than for all the saved.
On what one did there with Christ, who died, rose from the grave.

3) It's a somber atmosphere, there before God's Throne.
No chance here to make things right, for sin to atone.
The decision for The Lord, made before their death.
To accept, or to reject, Christ, before last breath.

4) It's a somber atmosphere, there before God's Throne.
As different as both day and night, the theme and the tone.
Heaven, reward for the saved, at Bema Judgment Place.
The Lake Of Fire, for the lost, refused Christ, and God's Grace.

5) It's a somber atmosphere, there before God's Throne.
The King Of Kings, and Lord Of Lords, The Chief Cornerstone.
The only One to walk the Earth, without a sin in life.
He took our sins upon Himself, all the shame and strife.

6) It's a somber atmosphere, there before God's Throne.
The first time Christ came there, He was rejected by His Own.
''His Blood be on our children, and on us as well''.
Yet, that Blood would break the power, of sin's evil spell.

7) It's a somber atmosphere, there before God's Throne.
For the saved, sins not considered, in this judgment zone.
But on how they served The Lord, while they lived on Earth.
Treasure stored in Heaven there, with the Kingdom's Worth.

8) It's a somber atmosphere, there before God's Throne.
Now in Heaven, too late to, skills spiritually, to hone.
Their standing in eternity, there in The Lord's Eyes.
For many there, rewards received, they will be surprised.

9) It's a somber atmosphere, there before God's Throne.
Just going through the motions there, no deeds to be shown.
While they did believe on Christ, the one thing God required;
Their works of wood, hay, and stubble; burned up in the fire.

10) It's a somber atmosphere, there before God's Throne.
Those who stored up treasure there, gold, silver, precious stone.
Their deeds so did please The Lord, He gives all these, the crowns.
Eagerly now, as on Earth, before Christ, these bow down.

11) It's a somber atmosphere, there before God's Throne.
For the faithful, serving Christ, reward count, there grown.
They lay their crowns there, at Christ's Feet, and their voices, raise.
That He Alone, The Righteous Judge, is worthy of all praise.

12) It's a somber atmosphere, there before God's Throne.
For the lost, the time in Hell, the agony, alone.
It's only the start for all these, that they will endure.
They refused The Great Physician, and sin's only cure.

13) It's a somber atmosphere, there before God's Throne.
The ever present nightmare there, punishment, the tone.
Their whole life is now replayed, everything revealed.
Whether seen or hidden there, all is now revealed.

14) It's a somber atmosphere, there before God's Throne.
They plead for mercy, that their sins, there would not be shown.
No pardons and no mercy there; no question of their guilt.
For they trampled underfoot, Christ's Precious Blood, He spilt.

15) It's a somber atmosphere, there before God's Throne.
They see when they did reject, Christ's Blood to atone.
They laughed and scorned The Gospel Truth, that they heard on Earth.
Now, they hear It one last time; too late for New Birth.

16) It's a somber atmosphere, there before God's Throne.
The lost, cast to The Lake Of Fire, as one's Christ's never known.
Now compelled there by God's Word, they bow on bended knee.
''I Never Knew You'' fills their head, for eternity.

17) It's a somber atmosphere, there before God's Throne.
An appointment will keep, one you can't postpone.
And, there is no second chance, after death to choose.
This applies to everyone, Gentiles and the Jews.

18) It's a somber atmosphere, there before God's Throne.
Tomorrow promised to no one, time of death, unknown.
God's Creation, and His Rules; Christ, The Only Way.
At death, it's either Christ, or you; for your sin, to pay.
